How do I begin?
There are a few things to consider if
you want to study in Canada.
Affordability
You must ask yourself. “Can I afford to
travel to and from Canada? Can I afford the training? Can I afford to live in
Canada on my savings?”
While it is true that the cost of flight
training in Canada is far less than most other countries, the cost is still
substantial. You must be able to prove to the Canadian visa officials that:
| 1. |
Either you have paid tuition and residency fees or, |
| 2. |
You have access to sufficient funds (4 months of
bank statements) to allow you to pay for tuition fees as well as
provide for your living expenses while training or, |
| 3. |
A bank draft in convertible currency |
Do I require a
Student Visa?
Less than 6 months stay in Canada no
student visa is required. You can enter Canada with a tourist visa. This method
is best if you are seeking a PPL or type rating.
If you are planning a full Professional
course which might take between 9-12 months, you must apply for a student visa.
Visa Application
Process
Before
you contact the visa office you must be in possession of a letter of
acceptance from Winnipeg Aviation. We will mail this letter to you once we
have received your tuition fee.
You are more likely to obtain a visa if
you pre-pay most or all of your tuition fees and accommodation costs
prior to applying for your visa.
Be sure that you can prove to the
Canadian consulate that you have made such a payment. We will support you on
this in your letter of acceptance.
You must satisfy the visa officer that:
|
Your stay in Canada is of a
temporary nature and that you have compelling reasons to return to your home
country, (children, assets, guaranteed job, etc.) |
|
You will leave Canada after your
studies have been completed |
|
Have been accepted by an
educational institution (Winnipeg Aviation) |
|
You have enough money during your
stay in Canada to pay for: |
| |
| 1 |
tuition fees |
| 2 |
living expenses for yourself
and |
| 3 |
return transportation for
yourself |
|
 |
You are a law abiding citizen
without a criminal record (you may be asked to provide a Police Clearance
Certificate) |
 |
You are not a risk to the security
of Canada |
 |
You have completed an immigration
medical examination if required. Check here:

 |
A visa processing fee of C$125.00
will be required. (cash not accepted) |

Aviation Medical
Examination
If possible, we suggest that you complete a Category

your visa process. This will ensure that you are in fact fit to undertake the
training program. The following link will guide you to a list of doctors in
