Multi IFR Training
Multi-Engine Rating Program
| 1. |
The applicant shall
be a minimum of 17 years of age. |
 |
| 2. |
The applicant must
possess a Category 3 or Category 1 medical certificate valid for
private pilot (aero plane) license or commercial pilot license (aero
plane) upon commencement of the program. |
| 3. |
The applicant for a
Multi-Engine Class Rating will be trained to meet the knowledge,
experience, and skill to complete a flight test to the standard
outlined in the Flight Test Standards: Multi-Engine Class Rating
(TP219). |
Multi-Engine Instrument Rating Program
| 1. |
The applicant shall
be a minimum of 17 years of age. |
| 2. |
The applicant must
possess a Category 3 or Category 1 medical certificate valid for
private pilot license (airplane) or commercial pilot license
(airplane) upon commencement of the program. |
| 3. |
The applicant for
the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating program shall have obtained a
minimum of 70% on the written Instrument Rating examination (INRAT)
|
| 4. |
An applicant shall
have completed a minimum of: |
| |
| a) |
50 hours of
cross-country flight as Pilot-In-Command in airplanes of
which 10 hours must be in the appropriate category
(airplane), and |
| b) |
40 hours of instrument time
of which a maximum of 20 hours may be instrument ground time
(simulators). The 40 hours instrument time shall include a
minimum of: |

| i) |
5 hours of dual
instrument flight time acquired from the holder of a
flight instructor rating, |
| ii) |
5 hours in airplanes
for the Group 1 Instrument Rating, |
| iii) |
15 hours of dual
instrument flight time provided by a qualified
person as specified in 425.21(9) of the C.A.R.S.,
and |
| iv) |
1 dual cross-country
flight under simulated or actual IMC conditions of a
minimum 100 nautical miles; the flight to be
conducted in accordance with an IFR flight plan to
include, at two different locations, an instrument
approach to minima. |

| 5. |
An applicant will be
trained to meet the knowledge, experience and skill to successfully
complete a flight test in accordance with the Flight Test Standards:
Instrument Rating (TP9939E). |
